New type of cold-starting engine, ranging from 18 up to 85 hp. per cylinder; compression pressure is 400 lb. and combustion pressure 580 lb.; scavenging air is supplied by means of crank-chamber compression; cylinder liners are not adopted and heads have metal-to-metal joint; fuel spray is carried in central position, injection pressure being 2000 lb. per sq. in.; has bore of 12 1/2 in. and stroke of 15 in., designed speed being 290 r.p.m.; balance crankshaft is 7 3/4 in. diameter; results of fuel-consumption tests.
