Investigation of distribution and magnitude of water pressures experienced on seaplane hulls in service; apparatus developed; flight tests of UO-1 seaplane float; maximum pressure of about 6.5 lb. per sq. in. occur at step for full width of float bottom; proceeding forward from step, maximum pressures decrease in magnitude uniformly toward bow, and region of highest pressures narrows toward keel.
