Piloting experience and problems in flying Navy Douglas research aircraft D588-2 Skyrocket; purpose is to explore upper limits of type of airfoil which permits retaining relatively normal low speed characteristics; it is concluded that use of rocket engines and air launch is successful way of flight testing.
