Simple yet essentially practical method of determining relative position of aircraft directly from pilot's field of view is suggested; by training line of sight across given stations around wing plan contour, figures in graticules painted on wing at critical stations will correspond, at given heights, to distances on ground; this is shown diagrammatically.
