Advantages of V-tails when used on conventional airplanes include appreciable reductions in airplane drag, tail surface area, and weight and improvements in flying qualities are possible; important design parameters involved; conclusions based on several years' wind tunnel testing, as well as flight tests on one twin engine and on single engine airplane.
