Douglas C-124A is capable of transporting such heavy ground force equipment as tanks, field guns, bulldozers and fully loaded vehicles; entirely new fuselage superimposed on wings and empennage of C-74 and same type engines, Pratt and Whitney R4360-49 Wasp Majors, will be utilized as well as other service-proven features; main loading doors, of clamshell type, are in nose directly below pilot's compartment.
