Account of Matisa automatic machine tried out on London Midland Region by Railway Executive; it is made by Materiel Industriel SA, Lausanne, Switzerland; designed to break up and remove fouled ballast from under track, screen it, re-distribute ballast under track, and deposit waste matter either alongside track or in wagons on adjacent line.
