System design of space simulation chambers; review of environments to which satellite is subjected in orbital flight, and which influence its heat balance; methods of simulating these environments; factors which influence chamber design are radiation requirements, Sun's illumination, earth reflected sunshine, and earth radiation (infrared), extent and accuracy of radiation simulation dictate geometry of test chamber; design of chamber cold-wall is considered from several aspects, e.g. infinite heat-sink representation to satellite, surface fouling by cryo-deposits, etc; economics of regenerative nitrogen systems vs expendable systems.
