Skaugen Skibsrederi, Oslo, to carry emigrants between Italy and Australia; length oa 550 ft; breadth molded 60 ft 3 1/4 in.; depth to A deck 42 ft 5 7/8 in.; draft loaded 21 ft 3 7/8 in.; propelled by four Krupp 4-stroke pressure charged engines using Buechi system; each engine develops 4000 ihp and is coupled to 2600-kva alternator; current transmitted, at 3800 v, to two motors which are coupled to propellers.
