Originally "Prince David" and "Prince Robert," vessels were converted by Beliard, Crighton and Co, Antwerp, for Charlton Steam Shipping Co, London; length oa 384 ft 6 in.; breadth molded 57 ft; depth molded to main deck 20 ft 8 in.; draft loaded 16 ft 6 in.; fitted with two sets of single reduction geared turbines developing total of 18,600 shp at 250 rpm.
