Miscellaneous model experiments carried out at Admiralty Experiment Works, Haslar, indicate that shaft brackets increase wake and hull efficiency; results in open water on larger scale confirm this and show that no propulsive advantage was obtained to offset practical objections to arranging shaft brackets abaft propeller; set of readings of angles of flow past shaft bracket; cavitation and vibration.
