Report deals with effect of layout and traffic flow on frequency of "junction" type accidents resulting in personal injury at 139 rural three-way junctions; results confirm that frequency of junction-type accidents varies approximately with square root of product of two flows concerned, and accident rates for right corner are highest at left-hand splays, while rates for left corner are highest at square junctions; discrepancies are concerned with effects of islands, Halt and Slow signs and visibility.
