Netherlands Offshore Co plans to use new vessel in laying pipe lines, erecting production structures, and making surveys in rough waters of North Sea; twin submarine hulls are connected underwater by two wing-like transverse connections (hydrofoils) which reduce heaving and pitching; length oa 131 ft, beam 56 ft, center well 23 ft diam, molded depth 36 ft, draft 17 ft, displacement 1200 tons (metric); main propulsion is provided by 850-hp electric motors driving two Lips variable pitch propellers in nozzles.
