Features of world's first static electric locomotive simulator built by General Precision Systems Ltd of Aylesbury for London Midland Region, England; simulator comprises four main sections -- driving cab, motion system, visual system, and computer; driving cab contains all controls, instruments, indicators, switches and fittings of actual locomotive cab; motion system tilts cab backwards and forwards so that pupil can experience physical sensations of acceleration and retardation experienced in locomotive; visual system shows view of track ahead covering driver's full field of vision projected on screen in front of driver's window; computer contains electronic circuitry for simulating operation of those auxiliary electrical and other systems relating to particular locomotive which is being functionally simulated.
