Measurements of model ship motions and propulsive performance at various wavelengths, course angle to waves and model speed using free-running model in Mitaka No. 1 Ship Experiment Basin of Institute; frequency characteristics on basis of wavelength at Froude numbers 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20 and 0.25 are shown; results of head sea tests are compared with those obtained at three other tanks, with respect to pitch, heave, thrust and torque increase; turning ability was also measured in same conditions.
