Account of changes in Apollo design, construction, and procedures which have been made since accident which occurred during checkout of Block-I spacecraft for Apollo-204 mission; improved materials selection and substitution program comprised procedures for selection and testing of crewbay nonmetallic materials, reduction in quantity of combustibles in cabin to minimum, stowage in fireproof containers of those combustible materials which must be retained, placement of nonmetallic materials to inhibit fire ignition or propagation, and improved fire protection for crew clothing, etc; Apollo historical summary is included.
