Solution is derived by use of J2 deformation theory of plasticity for set of simply supported edge boundary conditions; uniaxial character of stiffeners and stiffener eccentricity (asymmetry about cylinder middle surface) are explicitly accounted for as is variable Poisson's ratio in plastic region; closed-form stability criterion is obtained for axial compression, lateral pressure, and hydrostatic pressure loadings; numerical example illustrates effect of plastic action on buckling load of typical aerospace structure.
