Critical assessment from viewpoint of operator (Okanagan Helicopters Ltd), operating over 60 helicopters of all types; present equipment available and problems which arise because most of equipment has been designed for military market; requirements are indicated relating to reliability, regulations and development; typical operations are described which include operations for heavy construction and power line work for oil and forest industry, fire fighting and patrol with light helicopters; operations for mining industry, transporting prospectors and geologists in mountain areas, patroling pipe lines and power lines; future prospects.
