Design and use of simulator installed by London Midland Region for training drivers of electric locomotives; internally, it is almost exactly like cab of London Midland Region electric locomotive; components and cab shell are actual locomotive parts, suitably modified; external light conditions are simulated, brightness being infinitely controlled to simulate day, night, or intermediate conditions; various motion conditions, including collision motions, and also noises associated with normal operation are simulated; visual system is provided by film which covers driver's full field of vision and moves at speeds proportional to up to 100 mph.
