Details of construction work at Malden, Mass, where double track line of Boston and Maine Railroad is on fill 20 ft high held by retaining wall 7 ft thick; three 70-ton jacks were used for advancing pipe through fill; final cost was about 1/3 of estimated cost by open-cut method.
