Account of wing and flap design, tailplane considerations and adoption of speed brakes: wind tunnel investigations were carried out to determine optimum path of flap and vane relative to wing; analysis of aero-elastic properties of T-tails: factors considered relative to engine location, nacelle design, longitudinal, directional, and lateral control, speed brake design and philosophy, and lift dumpers.
