The aim of this study was to develop a simplified method for determining the torsional stiffness of harmonic drive. For this purpose, in this paper the flexspline of harmonic drive is studied by dividing it into three distinctive portions. The first portion contains the teethed section of the flexspline and of the circular spline, while the second portion is the cylindrical part of the flexspline. The third portion represents the back portion of the flexspline. Designated torsional stiffness was compared with the manufacturer currently manufactured harmonic drives. The study to determine the torsional stiffness of the finite element method was used.
