To improve running safety of locomotive by analyzing the inner dynamic excitation of driving gear, with tools of gear dynamic meshing force formulas and multi-body dynamics software SIMPACK, a dynamic model of locomotive was established, and dynamic parameters of driving motor was calculated in the curved and straight track conditions. Simulation results show that the dynamic performance of locomotive driving motor become worse and its vibration increase with the increase of excitation force under the influence of inner dynamic excitation. The vibration of driving motor was enhanced with the increase of locomotive running speed and gear rolling speed, in the curved and straight track conditions the inner dynamic excitation of driving gear has the most significant effect on the nodding vibration of driving motor.
