Crew scheduling is an important task of urban rail transit (URT) crew management. The crew scheduling is not only related to the reasonable allocation of the crew’s workload but also directly affects the efficiency of urban rail transit operation organization and operating costs. The process of crew scheduling involves many factors which are interrelated and play decisive roles in determining the preparation direction and methods of the crew scheduling. Based on the process of crew planning, this paper firstly analyzed the types and the features of each type and the calculation method of work shift. Secondly, this paper proposes the method to ensure the number and location of crew rotation station. Lastly, it analyzed the way to set the locations of dining place and the setting down station and makes a case analysis. This research guides well the urban rail transit crew scheduling and improves the crew management efficiency.
