This paper first defines saturated intersections based on the point of probability and statistic and then discusses the capacity-loss principle of upstream intersection, the queue micro-traffic state, the rule of delay increasing by using wave theory and time-space diagram and then build capacity-loss models from different intervals. Through analyzing this model, it shows that losing capacity of upstream intersection leads the relationship of negative correlation with the downstream split and positive correlation with the downstream cycle. Finally, the paper validates the correlation between the losing capacity of upstream intersection and the signal parameters of downstream through example.
