By the increasing of the line amount, average construction costs per kilometer gradually drops in the integrated state of urban rail transit (URT) network. On the basis of the analysis of integrated management theory and resources sharing theory, the fieldwork and investigation on the construction of Nanjing metro and the anatomy of several cities' rail transit network construction planning, general laws of URT network construction planning has been concluded, network integrated state based on resources sharing theory has been focused on, the decrease of network construction investment and operation costs must based on the optimization of network integrated state has been brought forward. Resources sharing idea should be carried out during phases of project life-cycle and in every parts of engineering system structure. The results of study conclusion and engineering demonstration indicate that an integrated management based on the resources sharing idea of optimization thinking can make sure the entire process of the URT network construction will be carried out efficiently, simultaneously, the reduction of blind construction, improvement of the efficiency of resources using, therefore, achieving a healthy and sustainable development of urban rail transit.
