In this study, the influencing factors and formation process of vehicle violation during the pedestrian crossing are analyzed. Accordingly, vehicle violation data is obtained by traffic survey. Logistic regression analysis is used for constructing a model of influencing factors and the main parameters which affect the vehicle violation were found from it. Considering the situation of vehicle violation, and the mutual interference of pedestrians, appropriate indicators which model efficiency and safety based on critical gap theory is established. Finally, the different indicators are combined by using multiply synthesis method. The comprehensive index considering security and efficiency is then established, and a graph of comprehensive efficiency index for the different violation rates is drawn.
