The invention relates to a pedestrian crossing traffic indication method and system, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining the length of a pedestrian crossing, a signal lamp timing period, anda current signal lamp display state; according to the length of the pedestrian crosswalk, the signal lamp timing period and the current signal lamp display state, calculating safe passage data of thepedestrian crosswalk; and generating an indication signal according to the safe passage data so as to indicate the walking speed of the pedestrian on the pedestrian crossing. According to the invention, the problem that pedestrians cannot be indicated to safely pass through the pedestrian crosswalk in the prior art is solved.
