To serve the rapid construction of high speed rail stations in China, this paper seeks to introduce practical taxi facility layouts that are suitable to railway stations with different passenger volumes. First, the features of passenger of high speed railways are identified and predicted through investigation of passengers traveling in different types of trains in China. Due to travelers' characteristics and taxi's merits, the taxi mode will get its deserved share in the mode split. According to theories and practices home and abroad, there are three main styles of taxi facility layouts: parking style, self-organizing style, and interfered style, whose features are described subsequently. Then, key factors that have a decisive effect on the different types' capabilities are investigated in three stations with these three types of taxi facilities in China. Based on the results of the investigation, the capabilities and applicability of the three types of taxi facility layouts are presented.
