Due to the complexity of the railroad system, disruptions can lead train operations to deviate from their scheduled timetables. This study addresses the train rescheduling problem during segment disruptions. Given the uncertainty in disruption duration, we introduce a robustness constraint for train cancellations, leading to a linear integer programming model for train rescheduling. Utilizing the model’s characteristics, we employ the GUROBI solver for analysis and resolution. The results show that the model in this paper can generate robust train rescheduling plans under disruption uncertainty, providing important decision-making insights to dispatchers.
