The problem of insufficient coordination between urban rail transit and conventional public transport has seriously affected the operational efficiency of public transport. This study uses the ArcGIS software to analyze the density of four subway lines and bus lines in Xi’an. Combined with the urban POI hotspot distribution, the area where the POI is densely distributed, and the track is not coordinated with the conventional bus is used as the improvement area. The study shows that under the condition that the POI distribution is dense, the rail transit lines 2 and 4 in the northern part of the city have poor coordination with conventional buses. A method for improving the coordination of rail transit and conventional public transport based on the law of urban POI development is proposed. Adjust the bus route network in the improved area through specific cases to improve the coordination degree of the bus network.
