A problem in the operation mode of the GATTVD1200A Crankshaft Pulley with respect to the vibrations in the engine compartment is studied. The gap between metal work surfaces of the flange, bushing, and the belt pulley causing the vibrations and the knocks is measured. The bushing of the crankshaft pulley is removed and glue (liquid metal) is inserted to clear the gap. Static characteristics of the original and the modified torsional vibration damper (also known as crankshaft pulley) are studied. A comparative analysis of the angular stiffness of the models is made.
