In this article we present the problem of improving math e-learning for engineering students. In a post-industrial society, the importance of mathematical education for engineers is increasing. Distance technologies change the format of teacher-student interaction. It is difficult for a lecturer to identify gaps in knowledge if they do not use a survey of students about their learning. This paper presents a system of statements to identify problems that students encounter when solving test tasks and cases. There are two types of statements about test tasks with a choice of one answer and test tasks with a numerical answer. The results of the survey determine the requirements for the system of educational tasks to improve the effectiveness of distance learning for students.
