Inductive emissions were found to interfere with the operation of rate-coded AF track circuits. Once the phenomenon was fully understood, several mitigating schemes were conceived, and one of these was tested and implemented. Conductive emissions were not observed to cause interference. The interface applicable to conductive emissions is more involved than the inductive emissions interface, but seems to be analytically tractable. However, more work is required to verify the models and to catalog and quantify all possible conductive interference situations, before a both reasonable and sufficiently general interface can be established.
