A feedback control system described with transfer functions and graphically shown as classical functional block diagram is represented in this chapter in the non-traditional way as a virtual bus. It allows the engineering of a closed control loops with classical methods, known in the control theory, and simulate it with known software tools like MATLAB®. For a simple control loop with only one controller and one plant, the bus-approach has not many advantages. But it has many advantages against classical block diagrams for systems with many controllers and/or many plants, which are known as MIMO Control (Multi-Input Multi-Output). The description of the bus-approach begins with its basics and spreads to the MIMO-applications. The virtual bus lets easy track the signal ways of multi-variable system and to describe them with transfer function. It results in the derivation of stability conditions for separated MIMO systems without representation them in the state space. Theoretical derivations are accompanied with calculated and simulated examples.
