This report presents the results of a research task carried out under TCRP Project D7, Joint Rail Transit-Related Research with the Association of American Railroads/Transportation Technology Center, inc., Transit Switch Design Analysis (Phase 1). Under this task, a new switch design concept for transit was developed. A prototype of the switch will be produced and tested in Phase II of the effort.
