Three terminal guidance laws incorporated in a generic interceptor are compared: first- and second-order modern guidance laws (MGLs), that are matched to the second-order autopilot of the interceptor, and proportional navigation (PN). The sensitivity of miss distance (MD) between the interceptor and a target to autopilot time constant, damping ratio, and update rate is shown. For the chosen interceptor-target scenario, the second-order MGL achieves significantly improved MD over the other two guidance laws.<>
