Provided is a horizontal articulated robot which can be miniaturized in the horizontal direction while increasing the lifting and lowering distances of an arm without changing the height of the horizontal articulated robot when the arm is lowered to the lower limit position. According to the present invention, in the horizontal articulated robot (1), a first distance, wherein a horizontal distance between a first rotation center, which is the rotation center of a first arm (15) with respect to a main body (13), and a second rotation center, which is the rotation center of a second arm (16) with respect to the first arm (15), is shorter than a second distance, which is a horizontal distance between a third rotation center, which is the rotation center of a third arm (17) with respect to the second arm (16), and the second rotation center. Additionally, when an arm (12) is lowered to the lower limit position, the upper end part of an arm lifting mechanism (20) is disposed on the side of a base part of the first arm (15).

    암이 하한 위치까지 하강해 있을 때의 수평 다관절 로봇의 높이를 바꾸지 않고, 암의 승강량을 증가시키는 것이 가능하면서도, 수평 방향에 있어서 소형화하는 것이 가능한 수평 다관절 로봇을 제공한다. 수평 다관절 로봇(1)에서는, 본체부(13)에 대한 제1 암부(15)의 회동 중심인 제1 회동 중심과 제1 암부(15)에 대한 제2 암부(16)의 회동 중심인 제2 회동 중심의 수평 방향의 거리인 제1 거리가, 제2 암부(16)에 대한 제3 암부(17)의 회동 중심인 제3 회동 중심과 제2 회동 중심의 수평 방향의 거리인 제2 거리보다도 짧게 되어 있다. 또한, 수평 다관절 로봇(1)에서는, 암(12)이 하한 위치까지 하강해 있을 때에, 암 승강 기구(20)의 상단부는, 제1 암부(15)의 기단부의 측방에 배치되어 있다.
