The purpose of the present invention is to provide an automatic emergency braking system and a control method thereof, which can prevent a collision with a front vehicle in a section of the road where the surface slope rapidly changes. According to one embodiment, an automatic emergency braking system comprises: a front camera obtaining front image data of a vehicle; a radar sensor detecting radar information about a front vehicle positioned on a front side of the vehicle; and a control unit recognizing front vehicle information based on the obtained front image data and the detected radar information, storing recognized front vehicle information, generating a deceleration command for decelerating the vehicle based on the stored front vehicle information when road surface transition, in which a road surface slope rapidly changes, occurs, and outputting the generated deceleration command.

    일실시예에 따른 자동 긴급 제동 시스템은 자차량의 전방 영상 데이터를 획득하는 전방 카메라와, 자차량의 전방에 위치한 전방 차량에 대한 레이더 정보를 검출하는 레이더 센서 및 획득된 전방 영상 데이터 및 검출된 레이더 정보를 근거로 전방 차량 정보를 인식하고, 인식된 전방 차량 정보를 저장하고, 노면 경사가 급격히 변하는 노면 전환이 발생하면, 저장된 전방 차랑 정보를 근거로 자차량을 감속시키기 위한 감속 명령을 생성하고, 생성된 감속 명령을 출력하는 제어부를 포함한다.
