To realize practical implementation by solving or reducing main issues of energy-saving deceleration travel of an inertial traveling entity to a target deceleration/stopping point of a vehicle.SOLUTION: Deceleration travel to a target deceleration/stopping point such as an intersection or a cross walk of a vehicle that is traveling within a constant speed range is carried out on the basis of a combination of inertial travel from a point at a constant distance on an upstream of the target deceleration/stopping point corresponding to a speed within an inertia travel transition allowable range and following braking travel. However, depending on a situation at the target deceleration/stopping point, transition from the inertial travel to the braking travel is not carried out, and after passing through the target deceleration/stopping point by continuing the inertial travel, travel toward the next target deceleration/stopping point is carried out.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】車両の目標減速・停止地点への惰性走行主体の省エネルギー減速走行の主要な課題を解決あるいは軽減して実用化を可能にする。【解決手段】一定の速度範囲で走行中の車両の交差点あるいは横断歩道等の目標減速・停止地点への減速走行を、惰性走行移行許容範囲内速度に対応した目標減速・停止点上流一定距離の地点からの惰性走行と、それに継続する制動走行の組み合わせを基本として行う。但し、目標減速・停止地点状況によっては、惰性走行から制動走行への移行は行わず、惰性走行を継続して目標減速・停止地点を通過した後、次の目標減速・停止地点に向けての走行を行う。【選択図】図3
