To provide a mobile object detection device having a heater which is efficient and hard to deteriorate.SOLUTION: A mobile object detection device comprises: a housing portion which houses a light emitting portion emitting sensor light or a light receiving portion receiving the sensor light, and has an opening end open toward a first side in the optical axis direction of the sensor light; a cover disposed on the first side in the optical axis direction with respect to the housing portion and having an opening through which the sensor light can pass; a transmitting member disposed between the cover and the housing portion and transmitting the sensor light; and a heater unit which is disposed on a second side of the transparent member, opposite to the first side in the optical axis direction and heats the transparent member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
