To provide a piano wire position detector capable of preventing it from being attached to an unintended location on an object to be positioned.SOLUTION: This piano wire position detector comprises: a position detection sensor for detecting the position of a piano wire; a housing for attaching, in a prescribed state, the position detection sensor to an object to be position-measured with the position of the piano wire set as a reference; and an attitude sensor held in the housing so as to detect the attitude of the position detection sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
