The invention provides a piano wire position detector which can prevent installation errors when the piano wire position detector is installed on a positioning object. The piano wire position detector is provided with: a position detection sensor for detecting the position of a piano wire; a case for attaching the position detection sensor in a predetermined state to an object to be measured in position using the position of the piano wire as a reference; and a posture sensor held in the housing in order to detect the posture of the position detection sensor.
