To provide a technology that can discriminate an object that is about to fall or an object that is falling.SOLUTION: A falling object discriminating device 100, which is mounted on a vehicle 500, includes: an acquisition unit 103 that acquires information indicating displacement of an object near a loading platform of a peripheral vehicle traveling around a vehicle as a first detection signal; and a control unit 101 that uses the first detection signal to calculate at least one or more of a vibration frequency, amplitude, and magnitude of an object and discriminates whether an object is an object with falling possibility that may fall from the loading platform or an object that is falling from the loading platform according to a calculation result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
