To provide a manufacturing method of a power transmission shaft which can form a pipe body by winding fiber-reinforced plastic around a mandrel without receiving a constriction on a shape of the pipe body so much.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a power transmission shaft having a fiber-reinforced plastic pipe body 2, a stub yoke 3 connected to an end part of the pipe body 2, and formed with a through-hole 8 penetrating in an axial line O1 direction, and a stub shaft 4 comprises: a connecting process for connecting the stub yoke 3 and the stub shaft 4 to a mandrel 30 in which a sand mold 20 is formed; a winding process for forming the pipe body 2 by winding fiber-reinforced plastic to the sand mold 20, the stub yoke 3 and the stub shaft 4; a hardening process for hardening the pipe body 2; an external energy impartment process for collapsing the sand mold 20; a withdrawal process for withdrawing the mandrel 30 from the sand mold 20 and the through-hole 8 of the stub yoke 3; and a discharge process for discharging the collapsed sand mold 20 from the through-hole 8 of the stub yoke 3 which is opened by withdrawing the mandrel 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
