PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a resin surface smoother at a time of manufacturing a power transmission shaft including a resin film provided on a slide portion.SOLUTION: Provided is a method of manufacturing an intermediate shaft 5 including an inner shaft 35 on which an outer spline 37 is provided; a cylindrical outer shaft 36 including an inner spline 38 provided on an inner circumference thereof; and a resin film 139 provided on the outer spline 37. An intermediate member 46 for manufacturing the outer shaft 36 and an intermediate member 147 for manufacturing the inner shaft 35 are held while aligning a central axis of the inner shaft manufacturing intermediate member 147 to a central axis of the outer shaft manufacturing intermediate member 46 in a heating acclimation step (FIG. 4(h)). In this state, the respective intermediate members 46 and 147 for manufacturing the outer shaft 36 and the inner shaft 35 relatively slide in an axial direction X1. As a result, a surface of the resin film 139 is leveled. In the heating acclimation step, grease 48 is interposed between the respective intermediate members 46 and 147 for manufacturing the outer shaft 36 and the inner shaft 35.

    【課題】摺動部分に樹脂被膜を設けた動力伝達軸の製造時に、樹脂の表面をより滑らかにする。【解決手段】外スプライン37が設けられた内軸35と、内スプライン38が内周に設けられた筒状の外軸36と、外スプライン37に設けられた樹脂被膜139と、を含む中間軸5の製造方法において、加熱なじみ工程(図4(h))では、内軸製造用中間体147の中心軸線と、外軸製造用中間体46の中心軸線とを一致させつつ、各製造用中間体46,147を保持する。この状態で、各製造用中間体46,147を軸方向X1に相対摺動する。これにより、樹脂被膜139の表面を均す。加熱なじみ工程では、各製造用中間体46,147の間にグリース48を介在させている。【選択図】図4
