To provide an electric power conversion system for a railway vehicle which can suppress lifetime reduction of an apparatus body of the system caused by change in temperature of the body that arises during operations of the vehicle.SOLUTION: This electric power conversion system 100 for a railway vehicle comprises opening/closing plates 23 for adjusting an area S covering radiation fins 22b seen in a traveling direction (X direction) of the railway vehicle 10 in order to reduce change in temperature of a cooling part 22 during operation of the vehicle 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
