To provide an AUV capable of inspecting an inspection object with high accuracy while suppressing consumption of power in an integrated battery.SOLUTION: An AUV includes: an underwater vehicle body cruising along an inspection object positioned in water or on water bottom; an arm extending from the underwater vehicle body; a tool unit for inspection having a contact unit for making contact with the inspection object and an inspection apparatus for inspecting the inspection object; and a passive joint provided in between the arm and the tool unit for inspection allowing passive relative rotation of the tool unit for inspection to the arm around at least one axis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
