To control the execution of an automatic driving function in a higher control state on the basis of the skill level of a driver.SOLUTION: A travel control device controls automatic driving travel of a vehicle by performing state transition of a plurality of control states on the basis of a peripheral environment of the vehicle. The travel control device includes: a skill level acquisition section which acquires a skill level on automatic driving of a vehicle occupant; and a control section which controls the automatic driving travel of the vehicle by a control state which is any one of the plurality of control states on the basis of the peripheral environment of the vehicle detected by a detection section. The control section controls the execution of an automatic driving function in a second control state on the basis of the skill level when the state transition is possible to the second control state in which an automation ratio of the automatic driving travel is higher or a request task to the vehicle occupant is lower than a first control state which is any one of the plurality of control states on the basis of the detection result of the detection section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A

    【課題】運転者の熟練度に基づいて、より高度な制御状態での自動運転機能の実行を制御すること。【解決手段】複数の制御状態を車両の周辺環境に基づいて状態遷移させて、車両の自動運転走行を制御する走行制御装置は、車両乗員の自動運転に対する熟練度を取得する熟練度取得部と、検知部により検知された車両の周辺環境に基づいて、複数の制御状態のうち、いずれか一つの制御状態により車両の自動運転走行を制御する制御部と、を備える。検知部の検知結果に基づいて、複数の制御状態のうち、いずれか一つの第1制御状態に比べて、自動運転走行の自動化率が高い、若しくは、車両乗員への要求タスクが低い第2制御状態への状態遷移が可能である場合に、制御部は、熟練度に基づいて、第2制御状態での自動運転機能の実行を制御する。【選択図】図1A
