To provide a reception sensitivity control method which suppresses power consumption of a portable machine performing wireless communication with an on-board machine, and can stably secure a communication distance between the on-board machine and a portable machine outside the vehicle.SOLUTION: A reception sensitivity control method for controlling consumption power and reception sensitivity of a portable machine which receives a signal for position detection that is transmitted from an antenna provided on a vehicle and transmits a response signal for detecting a position to the vehicle, detects getting-on action and getting-off action of a user having the portable machine, sets a state of the portable machine to a first state where reception sensitivity of the signal for position detection is low and power consumption is small when the getting-on action of the user is detected, and sets the state of the portable machine to a second state where the reception sensitivity of the signal for position detection is high and the power consumption is large when the getting-off action of the user is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車載機と無線通信を行う携帯機の消費電力を抑制し、かつ車載機と、車外の携帯機との通信距離を安定的に確保することができる受信感度制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】車両に設けられたアンテナから送信される位置検出用信号を受信し、車両に対する位置を検出するための応答信号を送信する携帯機の消費電力及び受信感度を制御する受信感度制御方法であって、携帯機を所持する使用者の乗車行動及び降車行動を検知し、使用者の乗車行動が検知された場合、携帯機の状態を位置検出用信号の受信感度が低く、消費電力が小さい第1状態に設定し、使用者の降車行動が検知された場合、携帯機の状態を位置検出用信号の受信感度が高く、消費電力が大きい第2状態に設定する。【選択図】図1
